SUAD Home Directory
Remote access to your AD H:\ drive from the dorms or off campus can be done through SU Remote Access(SURA). SURA can be downloaded from http://its.syr.edu/downloads. Install and run the tool, after you establish a VPN connection to the campus network, you can click the button Map Network Drive to access your home directory.
Telnet/FTP
Telnet access is disabled because it transmits passwords in clear-text. You cannot FTP into your AD home directory. Please use the SURA tool.
ECS Windows/Unix Home Directory
Remote access to your ECS H:\ drive can be done using SURA first, then Map a Network Drive to the path //sauron/homes using your ECS credentials.
Telnet/FTP

FTP to apollo.ecs.syr.edu is discouraged in favor of SFTP or SCP. FTP will also be limited to VPN connections only in the near future.
